Job Profiles :
Job aspirants for the post of conservation scientist precisely, AmeriCorps service members must be able to handle the responsibilities of scientific data collection and management as well as the physical demands of performing field duties. Field and lab responsibilities will include one or more of the following: snorkel surveys, salmon spawning surveys, fish capture (electrofishing, seining, fish weir, etc), fish measurements, fish marking (floy tags, spaghetti tags, PIT tags, coded wire tags, etc), habitat measurements/mapping, fish dissections, otolith extractions, coded wire tag extractions, fine sediment processing and measurements, invasive species removal, plant propagation, and native vegetation plantings. Education and outreach responsibilities will include curriculum delivery and dissemination through the following methods: classroom visits, hatchery visits, field trips, events, science camps, and social media. AmeriCorps service members will also be responsible for recruiting and training volunteers.
